Just been out to get in the car for work and the fucking thing won't start! Engine not turning over, just making this "eeee-eeee-eeee-eeee" sound of not-wellness. Highly fucking irritating since a) it has never ever had a problem starting before, even in the coldest, wettest weather, and b) only just spent £30 on it on Saturday since some dickhead knocked the driver's wing mirror off... whether accidentally through flid driving, or deliberately through vandalism I'm not sure.
Now waiting for the RAC to turn up, just hope and pray they can fix it on the spot, otherwise it's going to be probably an emergency holiday from work and a load of money, and we don't get paid until Wednesday :-\ Cross fingers they can fix it now and I can just go in a bit late and work it back over today/tomorrow.
Starting to have uncharitable suspiscions that Pat fixing the new wing mirror on yesterday has somehow interfered with the battery... Mind you, if it's the battery then that's easily fixed, so that would probably be best-case scenario.
Might as well do a catch-up whilst I'm sitting here, anyway. It's been a quiet weekend apart from the wing mirror incident, and seems to have passed inordinately quickly. This is possibly because I don't get a lay-in on Sundays any more since I have to get Simon up... so he can go to church o.O
A few weeks ago he started asking me if he could go to church with Nolly and Noella on a Sunday, the main attraction being just spending time with his friends, and the "activities" they had sold him on as a part of Sunday school. I was extremely hesitant about this, but in the end I decided that preventing him from attending church when he wanted to would be just as bad as making him go if he didn't want to.
It's a real ethical headache though, because Simon is such a follower that I worry he will just believe everything he is told - he hasn't yet developed any critical faculties to assess things for himself. On the other hand, he's never going to develop those faculties if he's never put in a position where he needs to do so. At any rate, he seems to be completely uninterested in the religious aspect of it and is simply enjoying socialising with his friends, which is certainly a positive thing.
But this does mean I need to get him up for 8.30am on a Sunday since they go to early service :-p
