Scaffolding!

There are two blokes putting up some scaffolding about 10 feet behind my desk, at the edge of the gangway which leads to the canteen.

They have been at it since about half nine this morning.

So far they've managed to get half the struts the wrong way round, partially disassembled it, reassembled it, wandered off for a tea break, come back and disassembled part of it again, and they are now reading the instructions with a very puzzled air.

What I'm really hoping for is that they'll finally get the thing up, climb up it to the staggering height of 12 feet, change one lightbulb, and then take the thing to bits again. Fucking Health and Safety, eh?
(Well, either that, or my second choice is that they accidentally drop one of the struts over the side and it lands on the Oli team pod, where it should prove an interesting focal point for many months to come. This has already nearly happened twice, so I think I'm in with a good chance, there.)

Addendum. Good news, bad news.

I knew I'd forgotten something that happened last week.

I went to Morrisons on Thursday night to get my fortnightly supplies, among which was a bottle of wine (on special offer, naturally.)

As the cashier rang my purchases through, I noticed that she put the wine on one side and assumed she was going to ring it through last as it was the heaviest item, and the only glass one.

I was amused and flattered when she asked if I could prove my age, and on hauling out my drivers license (grinning like a monkey all the time) she read my date of birth and gave an audible gasp, and exclaimed that I couldn't possibly be that old!

So ladies, if you are in need of an ego boost, I recommend Morrisons at Halfway on a Thursday night, just make sure you get in the queue for Jasreet's till!

Of course the flipside of this was realising that her perception might have been skewed by the fact that I'm sporting more spots, pimples and eructations on my face than I had throughout the whole of my teens...
