I've opened up an eBay shop to sell my comics collection (well, most of it) and hopefully that should provide the funds for the PC (and some to spare) but my goodness it's going to be a long job. So far I've spent about 4 hours setting it up and listing 47 comics and I don't know exactly how many that leaves me to list but I'm guessing I've got at least 600 to list for sale. I'm in a bit of a cleft stick between listing them quickly using TurboLister or similar, or listing each one individually with Auctiva and spending a bit of time making the listing as attractive as possible.

I suppose I may as well list each one accurately and nicely since if I list them en masse and they don't sell, I'll end up going back and poncing up the listings anyway, so might as well save time ahead.

Of course I am not selling all of them. I will probably keep most of my Vertigo imprints, although I might let the Swamp Thing issues go. I'll definitely be keeping Sandman, Hellblazer, Animal Man, Shade the Changing Man, and most of the limited series.

Sold a batch of eight this morning and I'm nearly crying already. Gotta be done, though.

Just going through this small part of my collection, checking conditions, cataloguing, scanning the covers, etc, is reminding me why I loved collecting, and it's making me want to run down the shop and start collecting again! But that way madness (and debt!) lies, so I've just got to stiffen me upper lip and get on with it.

Of course it's brought my old mucker Simon Smith to mind, since he was the one what got me started on the old collectin' lark. I wonder where he is and what he's doing now. Wish I had a way of getting in touch with him. We used to have such a good laugh. Late night lock-ins at the Balaclava... kebabs from Elmer, who taught us to curse in Turkish... mop-dancing... "Cunt Flyer" and "Another Man's Frog"... silly handshakes... and probably a load more shit that I've forgotten.

Anyway... lunchtime, and I'm STARVING...
